Vincent W. Puckett Kindness Award & Scholarship

Requirements for the scholarship award are as follows: Students must be a Mount Airy High school band student. Students only in grades 9-12 are eligible. Eligible student must have displayed conduct deemed to be kind to others above and beyond that of a typical student. Other attributes taken into account are loyalty, honesty, kindness, and an over achiever who has a passion for music. Nominees are selected and chosen by Roxane and Cary Cann along with the high school band teacher. KINDNESS IS THE KEY! Scholarships are tax free to the student and do not have to be applied to college.

Cary and Roxane were both humbled and honored to present the first Vincent Kindness Award and Scholarships to Philip Daniels and Freri Rodriguez. Both sophomores with a love of music. Philip plays the Tuba and Freri the Trombone.

Cary and Roxane Cann were honored to present Mr. Darius Nicholson with the 2017/2018 Vincent Puckett's Kindness Award and Scholarship. Darius is a senior with plans to attend college and continue his love for music. He exemplifies kindness and will go far!

It was an honor to present Carson Driggers with this years award and scholarship. The selection process each year is no easy task, but Carson's love and dedication to  music,  kindness to others and overall  achievements along with his  attitude set him apart.  Carson is a kind human being and we are excited to see what the future holds for him.
